The 6th Colgan Heritage Weekend began last night in the Colgan Hall and continues until Sunday. The programme of events will include the unveiling of the new public art piece in the grounds of the Hall, talk by Eamon O’Cuiv, talk and presentation by Richard Curran, Biddy McLaughlin and Pat Doherty (Famine Village). Guided walk on Sunday at 11am with Dessie McCallion. Launch of the Colgan Centenary Magazine, exhibitions by local volunteer groups hosted by Maura Harkin. Exhibition by Philip McFadden. A night of Timeless Craic on Saturday 27th June in the Colgan Hall, Ceili, Set & Old time Dancing, Singing, Recitations and Tradition music. Part of the Colgan Heritage Weekend. 8.30pm-12. Admission €10 inc supper. Something for everyone.

Fundraiser dance in aid of Irish Kidney Association (Renal Support Centre) will take place in TulnaRee on Saturday 27th June. Music by Me, Myself and I tickets €5, pay at the door, there will be a door prize for €50 and a raffle on the night. Dancing from 10pm until 2am. Ring 086 355 8823 for further information.

Coyle School of Dancing will hold a Glow in the Dark disco in Tul na Ri tonight from 7-9pm. Admission €5, all welcome.

Carndonagh GAA club is hosting a Fun Climb of Sliabh Sneacht this Sunday with free buses leaving the clubhouse at Foden at 1pm. This will be a great day out for all the family and we encourage you to come along and experience the fantastic views that are available and refreshments and entertainment will be provided at our clubhouse after the climb. Donegal Civil Defence will be in attendance.

Adult Art at the Colgan Hall has formed into the Colgan Painters. We will be having a break for July but back first Wednesday in August( max 10 people, so book early). We are looking forward to our group exhibition in September. For details ring Sinead on 087 1372 139.

Carndonagh Tidy Towns will have a weekly clean up every Wednesday at 6.30pm. Meet at the Diamond, wear gloves and high viz vest and bring gardening equipment if possible. Please help for just a hour. Volunteers needed.

It’s a Knockout will be presented by Malin RNLI on Sunday 2nd August on Malin Town Green,the first time a event like this is being held in the parish, teams of 10 (over 16s), from townlands,businesses and families, clubs etc.
