Many congratulations to the winners of this year’s Jim Guy Perpetual Shield Table Quiz, ‘PCMS’, including Sheila Strawbridge, Margaret Melarkey. Connie McAllistair and Patsy Gallagher.

The local quiz team triumphed in the recent Quiz Final at Malvern House on Chapel Road - the vibrant Social Centre serving Derry’s wider older community. Thursday’s final was the culmination of five weeks of matches played on a league basis, with teams then progressing through the knockout stages, into the decider.

This year’s quiz proved to be a tremendous success.

In a close and exciting contest throughout, the winners ‘PCMS’ narrowly beat runners up ‘Us 4’ by just one point. The winning team were presented with the Jim Guy Perpetual Shield and a meal voucher for The Icon on Dungiven Road, who were sponsors of this year’s event.

A spokesperson for Age Concern Derry said: “We wish to extend our congratulations to the winners and thank all teams who took part. Sincere thanks also to our sponsors The Icon, for their kindness and generosity in donating this year’s prize.”
