‘Pensioner of Year’ nominations sought

Age Concern in Derry has begun its search for 2014’s ‘Pensioner of the Year’.

To be nominated, a person must be over the age of 60 and living in the Derry City Council Area.

Nominations can be made by organisations, groups or individuals.

Completed nomination forms must be returned by 1pm on Friday November 14.

This year’s competition is sponsored by British Telecom and The Sligo Park Hotel.

The winner will receive a phone system from British Telecom in addition to an overnight stay including dinner for two people at The Sligo Park Hotel.

The winner will be announced at a Gala Evening to be held at Malvern House on Thursday November 20.

Admission to the event is by ticket only and these can be obtained from Older People North West, Malvern House, Chapel Road.
