He walked the streets in search of peace

He walked the corridors of power

He spoke to everyone he met

He knocked on every door

He saw the fear in people’s eyes

He also saw their tears

He felt the pain inside their hearts

He heard the cries they cried in vain

No matter how hard or tough it got

No matter how many times turned down

No matter how many doors were closed

It never made him stop

In fact it made him stronger

More determined than before

He never turned or walked away

Till they heard what he had to say

Just like Martin Luther King

John also had a dream

To walk the path of civil rights

To see his people live in peace

He took the gun and bullet off the street

He silenced all the bombs

He took away the misery

He stopped the slaughter and the killings

You have changed the face of Ireland

You have brought the divided together

You will always be remembered
