A device left at a car wash on the Racecourse Road last night was a viable pipebomb, the PSNI have said.
The security alert began just before 10pm on Thursday when police received a report of a suspicious object at the premises. Bomb disposal experts were called to the scene and examined the object.
Three masked men in a silver car were seen in the area at 9.50pm, shortly before the pipebomb was discovered.
The PSNI have asked for anyone who saw the masked men or has information on the attack to contact them on 0845 600 8000 or via ‘Crimestoppers’ on 0800 555 111.
