Plans for roundabout at busy junction at ‘an advanced stage’

Fed up drivers who face delays at what has been described as one of Limavady’s busiest road junctions will be relieved plans for a roundabout at the location are at “an advanced stage.”

Regional Development Minister, Michelle McIlveen, said there are no plans to install traffic lights at the nearby RathmoreRoad/Broad Road junction “detailed designs for the proposed roundabout at the junction of Greystone Road and A37 Broad Road, close to the Rathmore Road junction, are at an advanced stage.”

In response to a question from DUP MLA George Robinson, the minister said subject to funding, land acquisition and scheme initiation, “this will be progressed in due course” and delivery of the scheme will “contribute significantly to improved safety along the A37 Broad Road, including the Rathmore junction, while leading to improved efficiency at the Greystone Road/Broad Road junction”.
