Detectives in Derry investigating a rape on Hallowe’en night have asked members of the public who were dressed in a ‘Scream’ costume that evening to make themselves known to police “so they can be eliminated from their enquiries.”
The detectives from the sexual crime unit are investigating an alleged serious sexual assault which occurred after the city’s Hallowe’en carnival.
The alleged attack happened at around 1am on November 1st in Edenmore Street, near the Northland Road area of the city.

The assailant was reportedly dressed in black and wearing a ‘Scream’ mask with blood over the face.
Renewing their appeal for information detectives are now seeking to speak to “anyone who was wearing a Scream costume on the night in question so they can be eliminated from their enquiries.”
