Police in Limavady investigating the report of a street robbery in the Market Street area on the evening of Wednesday December 17 continue to appeal for witnesses.

Chief Inspector Alan Hutton appealed to anyone with information to pass it on to the police immediately.

“At around 9.30pm, a woman was grabbed by two men wearing hooded tops, as she walked along the street. They demanded money and searched through the woman’s pockets before making off on foot in the direction of Catherine Street. No money was taken and the woman, whilst not physically injured as a result of the incident, was left badly shocked.

“I appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident or who has any information that could assist with our enquiries to contact CID in Limavady on 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111,” he said.

Two males aged 18 and 21 year have been charged with robbery in relation to this incident and are due to appear at Derry Magistrates Court on Monday December 22.
