243 parking tickets not paid in Limavady

More than 200 parking tickets issued in Limavady over the last three years have gone unpaid, it has been revealed.

Figures released by the north’s Department of regional Development show that since 2010, a total of 3,606 Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) were dished out by ‘red coats’ in Limavady for parking offences.

But the statistics - released to SDLP East Derry MLA John Dallat - further show that 243 of those PCNs have gone unpaid, which he called “very substantial.”

PCNs have an initial cost of £45, rising to £90 after two weeks and £135 after 28 days.
