Limavady Mayor, Gerry Mullan has joined fellow councillors in the call to continue the succeess of last weekend’s Limavady 400 celebrations which saw Drumceatt Square in the town centre heaving with people.
Located outside the Arts Centre, the Square was busy as people set a push-ups world record, and where fun day events ran as Council’s Limavady 400FM radio station aired. SDLP Colr. Mullan said events only scratched the surface of how the Square could be utilised and it needed to “be jumping every Saturday”.
Other councillors have made calls to investigate getting country star Nathan Carter to play in the Square, while delight was expressed by DUP Colr. George Robinson that BBC personality Huge Duncan is returning. Sinn Fein Colr. Brenda Chivers suggested Council explore getting a bandstand to shield musicians, especially during wet weather.
