SDLP Derry City Councillor Anne Donnelly has urged people in Derry to show their support for public sector workers at a rally at Guildhall Square on Thursday.

Unions, including Unison, Unite and NIPSA will attend the 1pm rally.

“I would urge everyone to spare some time on Thursday to come out and show their solidarity for public sector workers who provide vital services in our city,” said Cllr Donnelly.

“These workers have endured several years of pay cuts in real terms and, on Thursday, they will be saying loud and clear that poverty pay must end. They believe they aren’t asking for anything unreasonable and I hope people in the city will show their support for their call.”
