SDLP Councillor Martin Reilly has welcomed Transport NI’s commitment to improving the street lighting and pathways in the Hollymount Park area of the Waterside in Derry.
Cllr Reilly said: “Constituents raised their concerns to me about the condition of the footpaths in Hollymount Park following much-needed improvements to street lighting in this part of the Waterside.
“The pathways had been disrupted during the installation of the lighting but, unfortunately, had been left in an unfinished state.
“I, therefore, welcome confirmation from Transport NI (formerly known as Roads Service) that they will be remedied shortly.
“I am delighted these works will be completed following these representations; not least as it will provide a safe walking environment for pedestrians in the area.”
