Sinn Féin Councillor Tony Hassan has condemned those who stole cables, lead castings and windows from the new site at the Racecourse Road.
Councillor Hassan said: “There is a massive waiting list for new homes yet some people are determined to hold up this development by stealing street lighting cables, windows and lead castings in order to make a few pound.
“Several families could now be delayed from moving into their new homes if these thefts continues causing hardship to those families.
“These people are anti community and anyone who knows who is involved in these thefts should inform the PSNI immediately.
“I would also appeal to people driving past this development to report any suspicious activity to the PSNI.”
