There is only one party that can deliver for Derry - Sinn Fein

POLITICS has been transformed over recent times and Sinn Fein has been at the heart of that transformation.

Derry has been transformed also but we have more – much more – to do.

Despite the world economic recession and Tory imposed budget cuts, Sinn Fein in the Executive has delivered a state of the art schools estate for Derry; a new hospital wing and Radiotherapy unit at Altnagelvin; over 1,400 jobs delivered in the last two years and ensured £11 million investment in the physical expansion of Magee.

ADDITIONAL HOUSING In addition, we have seen over 1,000 houses built in Derry; secured a new stadium at the Brandywell; funding for the construction of the Free Derry and Apprentice Boys’ Museums and funding for new parks and pitches worth £9 million through the Social Investment Fund.

This was with a team of two Sinn Fein MLAs but we need a stronger team going into the new Assembly mandate.

Martin McGuinness has now returned to his home city with a determination to deliver on the potential that exists here and with Martin leading a team of three MLAS, particularly MLAs of the calibre and capability of Maeve McLaughlin and Raymond McCartney, think how much more we could deliver.

STRENGTHENED TEAM

A strengthened team of three Derry Sinn Fein MLAs will enable us to deliver on the key issues: ensuring the construction of the A5 and A6 roads; much more quality jobs for Derry and the expansion of Magee.

We will also ensure a Medical School is established at Magee and a Health Innovation Corridor is established, linking the Science Park at Fort George through Letterkenny and Sligo Hospitals and Institutes of Technology.

In the wider North-West we will establish Greenways between Derry and Buncrana and Derry and Muff through the North West Gateway Initiative as well as putting in place a multi-million pound North West Development Fund.

We also want to see our airport grow and we will ensure that a new Route Development Fund is established to allow the airport to offer more destinations.

Only a strengthened Sinn Fein team led by Martin McGuinness is capable of delivering on these issues. Sinn Fein is a growing political force north and south.

With 23 new TDs elected, our team of four MEPs and 261 councillors and increased influence in the next Assembly, Sinn Féin will use its mandate to ensure the change that is required in this society is brought about.

No other party or so called independent voices will be capable of delivering any real change for Derry.
