Discount retailer, Poundland, opened a new store in Derry yesterday.

The store, which is based in Lisnagelvin, has created 24 new jobs for the local economy.

Poundland’s Trading Director, Richard Lancaster, said: “We are delighted to bring our unique proposition to Lisnagelvin.

“Poundland offers amazing value on top branded products to over 5 million customers every week for just £1 and we look forward to opening our doors.”

Since opening its first store 25 years ago, Poundland now has over 580 stores nationwide and offers amazing everyday value with thousands of items at just £1 each.
