Vigilante group Republican Action Against Drugs has said it carried out a so-called punishment-style shooting of a 24 year-old man in Carnhill last Thursday night.
The victim was shot in the left leg after two men entered a house in the Carnhill area shortly after 10pm on Thursday.
The gunmen also fired a number of shots at the house during the incident.
In a statement, RAAD made a number of unsubstantiated allegations.
Police are investigating the incident and have appealed for anyone with information to contact the PSNI or the Crimestoppers charity anonymously.
