Red and Green routes scrapped

The controversial “Red and Green routes have been scrapped by Donegal County Council as the council have reopened their full strategic priority roads.

Senior engineer from Donegal County Council, Michael McGarvy, informed the ‘Journal’ yesterday that the council have replenished their current salt supplies and are now able to cope with the latest round of freezing weather conditions to hit the peninsula.

“We are now covering the full 1200km of strategic key roads in Donegal and hope to continue this from now on

“We are managing the salt situation on a daily basis.”
