A relay cycle in aid of Barnardo’s NI which pushed off from outside Barnardo’s shop on The Diamond in Derry has raised more than £2,450 for the charity.

Six members of staff cycled a total of 270 miles in a relay around Northern Ireland to raise awareness and funds for the charity.

Barnardo’s Derry shop manageress Roisin Houston said, “We were delighted to support our colleagues in their fundraising cycle. Dougie Tyler who works for Barnardo’s based in Coleraine started his bike ride from outside our shop in Derry and ended in Enniskillen. It was a fantastic achievement and we were so pleased to be able to wave Dougie off.”

All the money raised in the sponsored cycle ride will go towards Barnardo’s work with vulnerable and less-advantaged children locally. Barnardo’s shops are open 9-5pm Mon – Sat and 1pm -5pm on Sundays. Donations of clothes, household goods, baby wear bric-a-brac etc are always gladly received.
