Revamp for Rock Road PostOffice '˜very welcome'- Cooper

Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper has welcomed the news that the Rock Post Office in Derry has been chosen to be one of the Post Office's new main-style branches.

He said: “It is welcome news for residents of the lower Strand Road area, that the long established Rock Post Office will now get a revamp.

“The change is part of a major investment and support programme, the largest undertaken in the history of the Post Office, which will see 8,000 branches converting to new style branches, and an additional investment in over 3,000 community and outreach branches.”

Consumers can expect a newly refurbished branch providing a modern environment for customers, the same products and services and longer opening hours.

The new look Post Office is expected to open on Friday September 23, at 1pm, and customers are advised that it will close on September 13 for the refurbishment.
