Foyle Hospice is calling on Limavady borough residents to bounce their way to Roe Valley Country Park on Sunday 1st April for a ‘fun and foolish’ fund-raising walk.
Foyle Hospice would like as many people as possible to come along on April Fool’s Day and take part in a sponsored walk through the country park. (To make this walk a little more ‘foolish’ and as Easter isn’t too far away the participants are encouraged to dress up as bucks or bunnies!).
The walk is approximately 3km through the fantastic surroundings of Roe Valley Country Park. The start/finish point will be the car park at the Visitors Centre off the Dogleap Road.
Entry for the event is £5 with all participants receiving a goodie bag.
Sponsorship forms are available at registration and Foyle Hospice would like to stress the importance of your sponsor money.
This is a vital source of income for the Hospice and the services provided here in the North West Region.
Rachel Bruce, Community Fundraiser, said: “Foyle Hospice provides specialised palliative care to those terminally ill with cancer and other life limiting illnesses. Hospice care gives patients and their families the time and support required by each person’s unique emotional, spiritual and physical needs.
“The events that the Fundraising Team put together each year are essential to generating the funds to ensure these services continue here in the North West. I can’t stress the importance of sponsorship monies enough and how each participant is truly making a difference here locally. The Fundraising Team is looking forward to seeing as many people out in the Park on Sunday!”
