Roe Valley youth learn life saving skills

Congratulations to the young people of Roe Valley Residents Association and Bovalley Community Association who successfully completed their two-week intensive course on an “Introduction to First Aid”.

“We all had loads of fun, whilst learning a great deal of lifesaving skills. As the guys at Coastal Core say ‘Lifesaving may start with L, but it begins with YOU!’,” said a spokesperson.

Coastal Core Training is a new Limavady business aiming to offer quality first aid products, Lifeguard and First Aid Training, whether formal or informal.

Ryan Ferris, trainer, said: “We pride ourselves on making our courses as enjoyable and interactive as possible by getting all participants involved, as well as using props such as fake wounds and blood etc.

“If the children are happy doing the courses they are going to learn more and in the end that’s what we believe is important, that there is a mixture of both fun and education.”

Courses are available to people of all ages and all abilities, for details check the website www.coastalcoretraining.co.uk or find us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/coastalcore).
