Rossnagalliagh security alert: '˜widespread disruption'
Reports suggest a controlled explosion was carried out this afternoon close to the entrance to the Rossnagalliagh estate.
Earlier, young children from a nursery school were forced to leave the building, while some residents were also evacuated as part of the security operation.

Hide AdLocal group Galliagh Community Empowerment have circulated a picture of the cylindrical suspect device.
A number of roads have been closed including the entrance road into Bracken Park and Rossnagalliagh, according to reports.
Independent Councillor Warren Robinson has been in contact with Templemore Sports Complex and they have made their common room available for any evacuees.
Sinn Féin Councillor Elisha McCallion said: “Once again we have widespread disruption caused by a suspect device.

Hide Ad“The Rainbow Child and Family centre had to close for the day due to this disruption, which has caused a lot of upset.
“This will now also have a knock on affect for after school clubs.”
Colr. McCallion said: “Whoever is responsible for leaving this device needs to get off the backs of this community.”
