RTE brings Genealogy Roadshow to Derry

Do you think you might be related to someone famous or infamous? Could you be connected to a big event in local history?

The Genealogy Roadshow is back for a second series on RTÉ Television and you are invited to the making of the show in Derry tomorrow afternoon.

Lumen Christi College will be hosting the RTE’s Genealogy Roadshow team and it promises to be a fun packed day for all the family.

The Roadshow’s crack historical and genealogical team will be in the Bishop Street College all afternoon eagerly helping people find extraordinary stories in their family, as well as giving free advice on how to track down a family history.

Anyone interested in attending is asked to note that the session times are 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm. You are free to come at any of these times and stay as long as you like.

Some of the stories that will be covered on the day are amazing and heartbreaking. Can they prove the link between a Derry man and the revolutionary Che Guevara? Can they find the truth about why a young girl ended up in the workhouse in the 1930s?

Demand for places will be high so, if you are interested in attending call Seán on 02830834046 or 07791574463. You can also email sean@bigmountainproductions.com <mailto:sean@bigmountainproductions.com>
