Runner hospitalised after RTC near Limavady

A man who was out running was hospitalised after he was involved in a road traffic collision in the Myroe area, outside Limavady.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Just before 5.40pm on Friday 2 September, police received a report of a one-vehicle RTC on the Seacoast Road, near Limavady.

“A pedestrian was involved in the RTC and was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

Diversions were implemented on the Seacoast Road between the junctions with Lomond Road and Carrowclare Road.

“The road reopened at approximately 10.40pm.”

SDLP MLA Gerry Mullan said: “I was stunned to hear of the unfortunate accident, and I hope the victim has a full and speedy recovery.

“My thoughts are with him and his family at this diffcult time.”
