Sad passing of Mary Margaret O’Connor

Sympathy from all in the Parish is extended to the O’Connor family Culdaff on the death of Mary Margaret after a gallant battle against illness. Her quiet dignity and love of life endeared her to everyone she encountered. She is survived by her husband Seamus, daughter Sharon, sons Ciaran, Brendan and Shane, her

mother Maureen, sisters Eileen and Ann, brothers Michael, Joe, Connor and Christopher, six grandchildren, daughters law, son in law and wider family circle. May she rest in peace.

There will be a coffee morning in aid of the Donegal Hospice in Bocan Hall this Sunday after the 11am Mass.If you can help with some home baking please the Parochial House on 93-79107.

Nine tables participated in the third annual Des Mills Memorial Quiz in the Culdaff Arms last week with David McLaughlin’s “Write it Down” emerging winners after a tie break from Johnny Lafferty’s “Actor Glasses” and John Houten’s “ Mr Spiders MR” in third place two points behind. A total of €515 was raised and this was topped up to €600 by a donation from Brian. Money raised will be presented to the Good And New Cancer Bus and thanks to all who supported the quiz, bought tickets and provided the many raffle prizes.

The Paddy Lafferty Memorial Pool Shield will be played in the Orchard Bar Gleneely. Entries to Joe on 086-8220253, Charlie on 086-1006238 or in the Orchard Bar before November 9th draw for the competition will take place in the Orchard Bar on Sunday November 9th, games are the best of three.

There was no winner of the Gleneely Colts Lotto. Numbers were 5-8-16-17 and the 20 euro winners were Shannon Ruddy Tramore, Gleneely, John Harkin Falmore, Mary McDaid, Ourt Gleneely, Cadan Fildara, Malin, Josephine Mooney Effishmore Carn. The jackpot is now €550.

The Annual Craft Fair will be held in the Wee Hall Culdaff on Sunday 9th November. Lines are currently on sale at €2 each for a number of raffle prizes with the top prize a 32” TV. All support appreciated.

The annual Culdaff Football Club Bazaar takes place in Bocan Hall on Friday December 12th at 7.30pm- There will be the usual great prizes and a visit from Santa Claus is always a highlight of the night. Free admission and refreshments served.
