Sad passing of well known Derry republican

Well known and much loved Derry republican, Dale Moore, passed away on Sunday evening.

Dale had been unwell for a while.

In 1999 Dale was diagnosed sarcoidosis, a hardening on the lining of the lungs.

Dale underwent a lung transplant in 2007 in the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.

An Phoblact described Dale as “a good-humoured, tireless activist to the end.”

Sinn Fein MLA for South Down and Minister for Infrastructure, Chris Hazzard, described Dale as a “selflessly devoted comrade to all of us”.

One friend said Dale was “one of life’s gentleman”.

“The word gentleman gets thrown about a lot but dale was truly one of life’s gentlemen. One of the good guys through and through.”
