Actress, producer and broadcaster Roma Downey is back in Derry for a short visit this week. Yesterday morning she visited the newly-refurbished Guildhall with family and friends as a guest of the Mayor Martin Reilly. She had a tour of the Guildhall and visited the new Council chamber, as well as viewing the new Bloody Sunday window.

She went to get her photo taken along the Walls with Journal photographer Jim McCafferty, and was greeted and congratulated by local people, who wanted their own pictures taken. She then visited the Millennium Forum with Culture Company and Forum chair Martin Bradley.

‘The Bible’, the new series produced by Roma and her husband Mark Burnett, is a smash hit. It’s another landmark in the highly-successful career of the former Thornhill girl, who has also had Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.
