SDLP: Durkan supports National Libraries Day 2016

Mr Durkan, who will visit the Waterside Library in Derry tomorrow (Saturday 6 February) to show his support for National Libraries Day 2016, said:

“Libraries of all kinds – including school, college, university, workplace and public libraries – are such an essential part of our local communities and play such a pivotal role in providing access to learning for thousands of people.

“I would like to pay tribute to the professional expertise and skills of library staff who work so hard to promote learning, literacy and the enjoyment of reading to all.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to encourage as many people as possible – both young and old – to visit their local library and find out more about the great services they have on offer.”
