Describing the last three months, John’s son Edward Concannon said: “This has been the worst time of my life. I just can’t explain what it has been like.”

Edward said that the family and friends were currently concentrating on the back roads and thick foliage in the area where his father was last seen.

“We are going out searching ourselves, just private searches as we have enough people in our social circle to do that,” he said, adding: “We will keep hoping until we actually do get him. He is out there somewhere so it is still possible.”

John’s brother Michael Concannon, said the family’s thoughts were also with Strabane man, Sean Diver (39), who was has been missing since January 27.

“We totally sympathise with them and what they are going through. You really feel for them,” he said.
