Inishowen’s Garda Superintendent has once again issued an appeal for people across the peninsula to lock their homes and cars and secure all valuables.
Superintendent Eugene McGovern was speaking after a report of another burglary in Inishowen, this time at a premises on Muff Main Street on Sunday night. Entry was gained and a small sum of money was taken.
The incident occurred just a week after a van was allegedly taken from a home in Quigley’s Point and later recovered following a collision in Muff on November 14th.
Superintendent McGovern said each incident highlights the importance of looking after and securing property and vehicles. This ensures that would-be thieves are not presented with any opportunity.
Anyone with information relating to either of these crimes is asked to contact Buncrana Garda Station on 074 93 20540 or Muff Garda Station on 074 93 84002. Meanwhile, Supt McGovern also appealed for information in relation to an incident in Buncrana on Thursday at 10.55pm in which a vehicle was allegedly driven the wrong way up the Main Street and crashed into a telephone pole on Cockhill road.
