Three men are being quizzed by police amid a security alert in Derry.
The men were believed to be occupants in a vehicle which was stopped by PSNI officers at Whitehouse on Buncrana Road at around 3pm on Monday.
Army Technichal Officers (ATO) arrived on the scene at around 5pm to examine a possible suspect object.
It’s understood that the arrests were made by police investigating dissident republican activity in the city. The three men were taken to Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
The security alert caused widespread traffic disruption during rush hour.
Buncrana Road remained closed from Woodbrook Road to The Branch Roundabout as ATO attended the scene leading to gridlock on alternative routes including the Skeoge Link.
