Sewing and photography courses

QPCC will be running a 6 week Sewing course starting next Monday, 23rd February from 7pm to 9pm. A different project will be covered each week. Course tutor is Michaela Morrison. Course cost is €30. Elizabeth Hamilton from Picaboo Photography will be running at 5 week Photography course on Monday evenings at Quigley’s Point Community Centre from Monday 2nd March. Cost is 25 euro. The Kids’ club parental supervisors rota for February 2015 is as follows: Monday 16th February: Donna O’Doherty and Marie O’Kane. Monday 23rd February: Mary Roberts and Josephine McLaughlin. If you are unable to supervise on your designated night, please swap with another parent for another night.

There was no jackpot winner of the QPCC/RCD Draw last Friday. Winning numbers were 4,11,18 and 22. The four €15 prize winners were Caroline Breslin, Mountargus, Mary Porter, Drumfries, Siobhan McGowan, Redcastle, and Foncie & Cara, Ballyratten. Jackpot now €950.

Drung parish draw winners, €200 was Arinade Clarke, promoter Ellen Doherty, €100 was Mc Garry Family, promoter Rosalyn Margey, and €50 was Phansie Logue, promoter, Phansie Logue. In a recent game against Cockhill, Recastle’s Peter Breslin Suffered a serious injury and the Football Club and its supporters would like to wish Peter a full and speedy recovery and hope to see him back in Foyle Park again in the near future, The first team beat Carrowmena 10-1 at home on Sunday last, Greg Breslin 3, Brendan Murphy 2, Mark Mc Gonagle, 2, Christy Smith 2, and Colm Mc Laughlin, got the goals. Redcastle opened the scoring on 6 minutes when Brendan Murphy squared to Greg Breslin inside the area and he tapped home from close range. On 38 minutes a ball over the top from James Curran found Murphy on the right and he again set up Breslin who slipped the ball under Dougal from close range. Carrowmena got a goal back before the break when a Ruairi Dougal free into the box was turned into his own net by a Redcastle defender. Carrowmena almost levelled at the start of the second half before Christy Smith put Redcastle further ahead. Breslin completed his hat-trick in the 62nd minute and Murphy then got on the score sheet. On 76 minutes Colm McLaughlin added another and then Smith fired home from the left hand side. Then Aidan Lynch and Mark Mc Gonagle scored before Mc Gonagle completed the scoring, reacting first in a crowded area to divert the ball home. The reserve team failed to field a team against Rasheney. This year’s Underage registration day is on Saturday, 28th February from 11am to 1pm in the club-house, the fee is 10 euro per player. This money goes directly to the youth league for player registration.
