As Mother’s Day approaches, the Derry Journal is offering one local school pupil the chance of spoiling their mammy thanks to our Mother’s Day poster design competition.
The Journal has teamed up with local playwright Martin O’Brien to invite you to design a poster for his new production ‘True Colours’.
True Colours will be performed at the Waterside Theatre on Thursday, April 19th and Friday, April 20th and is Mr. O’Brien’s second production, following on from the success of his debut, ‘Two Little Boys’, in 2010.
‘True Colours’ follows the long-fractured relationship of a father and his daughter. Can American Jim Collins rekindle that relationship before he makes a permanent move from Derry to the US?
The competition is open to anyone 14 years of age or under.
The winner gets a night out with a difference - four tickets to see ‘True Colours’ at the Waterside Theatre; a chance for mammy to get her hair done beforehand at the Hair Design Company at Northside; dinner for four at Pitchers restaurant before the show; and all taxi transfers provided by The Taxi Company. In addition to all of that the winner will receive a free digital camera to capture their night out forever, all thanks to Ink 4 Less at Northside.
In order to win simply design a poster on the theme of ‘True Colours’ on a sheet no larger than A4 and send it into The Derry Journal offices at 22A Buncrana Road, Derry BT48 8AA, on or before the closing date of Tuesday, February 28.
Martin O’Brien and Journal reporter Laurence McClenaghan will do the judging, and if necessary the editor’s decision on all matters will be final!
