‘X Factor’ judge Louis Walsh, Donegal singing superstar Daniel O’Donnell and Westlife’s Kian Egan are among the showbiz names backing Strabane singer Ryan Dolan’s quest for Eurovision glory.
The Strabane singer - still the bookies’ favourite to represent Ireland in this year’s Eurovision - will take to the ‘Late late Show’ stage tonight as he and the other Eurosong contenders put their songs to the vote.
Ryan has been described as one of the most exciting home-grown musical talents to be discovered in Ireland in recent years and his YouTube channel has received more than 800,000 hits.
His song ‘Only Love Survives’ was co-written by fellow Strabane native Wez Devine and entered the iTunes top 200 last week.
A spokeswoman for the Strabane singer says showbiz top brass are backing the local man’s Eurosong bid.
“Louis Walsh, The Voice’s Kian Egan, Linda Martin, Glenda Gilson, Brian Ormond, Bernard Dunne, Daniel O’Donnell, rugby player Tommy Bowe, Eurovision stylist supremo Gary Kavanagh joining Shirley Temple Bar, and many more celebrities are giving their support to Ryan Dolan to win this Friday night’s Eurosong,” she said.
The Late Late Show Eurosong 2013 Final airs tonight on RTE 1 at 9.35pm
