The North West’s premier sporting event, the Waterside Half Marathon, is celebrating its 30th birthday this year and is inviting participants from all over the North West and beyond to be a part of what’s a unique occasion.
Year on year the Waterside Half Marathon welcomes seasoned competitors (and others) to the 13.1 mile course.
And for those looking to soak up the sporting atmosphere on Sunday 11th September, while having a bit of fun in the process, the ‘Fun Run’ is another option. It offers a more laid back approach to participating in one of the North West’s biggest sporting occasions. The 2km stretch within the grounds of Gransha Grounds allows participants of all ages and capabilities to exercise those limbs and enjoy all the fun activities that have been planned as part of the day.
Organisers have also note an increase in those participants wearing fancy dress, which has helped build on the fun atmosphere.
The Family Fun Run starts at 10.45 am on grass, behind the U3A Foyle building in the spacious Gransha Grounds, and will end at the impressive Half Marathon finish area close by.
