The huge success of ‘Slide On’ - the charity fundraiser which witnessed hundreds of people sliding down Shipquay Street to raise money for Cancer Research UK - is to be replicated in London next week.

The huge inflatable slide will be erected on Streatham Common on Saturday 25th October as part of the charity’s Stand up to Cancer campaign.

Local fundraising manager, Sharon Arbuckle, said, “It’s great to see the slide being used in another venue and it would be great if Derry people living in London could go along and enjoy the event that originated in their home town.”

The campaign, which includes a live television broadcast on Channel 4 this Friday 17th October, aims to bring the UK together to accelerate progress in cancer research and speed breakthroughs from labs to patients.

If you want to take part in the Slide On event in London you need to register online before 5pm on 23 October to take part and places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. Cancer Research UK are asking for all participants to aim to fundraise a target of £100 for the Stand Up To Cancer campaign.
