SLIDESHOW - Closing of Novena to St. Therese in Derry

The closing ceremony of the St. Thérèse of Lisieux Novena took place inside St. Eugene’s Cathedral on Sunday.

The ceremony was attended by hundreds of people from all Derry and Fr. Paul Farren led the service.

St. Thérèse of Lisieux was born in Alençon in North West France in 1873 and died aged 24 in Lisieux in 1897.

Thérèse of Lisieux is the patron saint of aviators, florists, illness(es) and missions and she was beatified on April 29, 1923 by Pope Pius XI.
