Something for all at the Waterside Theatre this a utumn

The Waterside Theatre hosts a range of quality arts and entertainment throughout the year such as drama, dance, comedy, live music and children’s theatre.

It also produces an extensive Education Programme. With a capacity of 372, free on-site car-parking, disabled access, a full screen cinema, fully licensed cafe bar and lounge bar, this is the perfect venue for evening entertainment.

The new Autumn 2011 programme is now underway. A wide range of excellent shows from award winning drama, music, dance and children’s shows are on offer to entice audiences into the Waterside theatre, with state of the art facilities over the coming months!

There is a fantastic mix of dance coming to the theatre, with Dylan Quinn Dance Theatre FUNK, a new vibrant dance show kicking off our new season.

The European Ballet is also performing with the ever popular The Nutcracker, ideal for audiences of all ages; and a fusion of dance and illusion is to be featured in Delusions of Time, a visual spectacle not to be missed!

There is a great variety of music for all tastes; from tribute acts such Creedence Clearwater Revived, The Roadhouse Doors and Coutry Roads - A Celebration of John Denver, to a praise concert with renowned hymn writer Stuart Townend and his band.

Canada meets Ireland with deliciously crafted songs from two of roots music’s finest Stephen Fearing and Andy White performing.

The WELB Schools Orchestras Winter Concert returns again to the Waterside Theatre and the recently formed Encore Contemporary Choir will present Musicals and Mistletoe.

There is an abundance of drama to choose from, including one of the great classic stories of the 20th Century, Of Mice And Men.

David Heap (of ‘Fair City’ fame) stars in Love and Fury, The Passion of Jonathan Swift and the life of Stephen Collins Foster is explored in Kind Hearts & Gentle People.

We Were Brothers, the story of a remarkable period in history also makes a return to the Waterside Theatre.

Music Theatre 4 Youth presents Aim High workshops and will present a showcase, and Shakespeare Schools Festival is staging four youthful half-hour productions of different Shakespeare plays.

TV Psychic Joe Power is appearing with The Afterlife Tour and there will also be a charming witty fairytale for adults, Ballad of a Bird, a hilarious must-see tale!

The Royal British Legion will present The Band of the Royal Irish Regiment concert followed by a short service of remembrance and all profits are in aid of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

The Hidden Treasures Children’s shows are Lost Sock Princess and The Circus Stachamoose, the highest quality theatre experiences for children and their families.

There is stand- up comedy with the top selling; now cult status Phil Cool and also one of Ireland’s most popular comedians and street entertainers David McSavage will be joining us on his tour!

The traditional Christmas Panto is Aladdin and Wireless Mystery Theatre recreates the sort of pre-war treats that could be picked up on any wireless in the country: Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

Cascade Gallery in the Waterside Theatre has different exhibitions from Aurelie Montfrond, Martina O’Brien and a joint exhibition with artists Sinead Smyth, Pascal Tobac & Tim Stampton.
