Sports move to The Warren

The annual Carrowmenagh Sports which take place this Sunday, beginning at 2pm is moving to a new venue this year, The Warren football pitch at Tremone where local sports were held back in the 1920s A fun filled day guaranteed for all the family. Admission 5 euro per adult, children free. Any unwanted gifts or prizes for sports day lucky dip please drop into the community centre.

The committee of Tremone Youth & Recreation invite all members of the community to the group’s AGM which will be held in Carrowmena Community Centre on Monday, 15th of July at 8.30pm. Any persons expressing an interest in joining the committee, please put their name forward in writing to the Company Secretary (John McLaughlin) before Friday, July 12th.

Carndonagh Camera Club meets at 7.30 every Thursday evening in Spraoi agus sport in Carndonagh. All levels of photographer welcome from camera phone users to DSLR users.

Terry’s fun camp- Greencastle community centre

Registration for terry’s summer camp is now available in Greencastle community centre. The camp will include sports of every description including fun activities i.e. obstacle courses, relays etc, arts & crafts, chess, Lego, and much, much more. Camp will run for two weeks from Monday 8th to Wednesday 10th July and Monday 15th to Wednesday 17th July, from 10am to 1pm each day. Camp will be split into two age groups 5 - 8yrs and 9 - 2yrs. Book now to avoid disappointment! The cost for the camp is 30 euro per child (sibling rate available). Snacks and refreshments included. St Vincent De Paul runs a charity shop in the old co-up Moville. All donations gratefully received. Transport can be arranged for larger items.

A reunion of past pupils and teachers of Drumaweir national school is being planned for August this year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the school building being opened. We would like to display some old photos of the school and its pupils so we would appreciate if anyone has pictures if they would allow us to scan them for a copy. The original would be returned to you immediately.

If you have photographs please bring them in to the community centre office where the staff will copy and return to you. Also if anyone would like to help organise or have ideas for the celebration, please contact the office on 074 93 81054.

Donagh and Culdaff Church of Ireland are running a Good As New Shop from Monday 1 July at Unit 3 Business Park, Carndonagh. Open daily 10am to 5pm.
