St. Brecan’s School reunion to take place

Following the closure earlier this year of Immaculate Conception College, Waterside, a group of of former teachers from St Brecan’s School have decided to organise a Mass and social evening to celebrate the life of the school and remember deceased members of the school community.

The Mass will take place in St Mary’s Chapel, Ardmore on Tuesday, September 22 at 7:30p.m. and afterwards those attending will have a chance to meet and reminisce in the parish hall.

Light refreshments will be available and there will also be an opportunity to take a trip down memory lane as there will be a photo exhibition highlighting school events over the years.

Saint Brecan’s Boys’ and Saint Brecan’s Girls’ Secondary Schools were opened on September 1 1966 and amalgamated into a single school known as St. Brecan’s High school in 1982. In November 2003 St. Brecan’s High school became the Immaculate Conception College.

Everyone who has had any association with the school over the years is invited to come along to the Mass and reunion.
