St. Mary’s Pipe Band are regulars at the world famous pipefest in Edinburgh each year.

This year, the talented Limavady pipe band made sure to make sure their talents helped charity.

Band members presented donations raised to local charities.

Drum Major, Mary McWilliams, along with other band members Brian McWilliams, Dermot Douglas, Andrew Doherty presenting cheques for £1,000 each to Lucille Brolly of The Roe Valley Friends of Marie Curie.

A cheque was also presented to Noel McMonagle from Foyle Hospice.

“The money was raised by donations and collections as a result of the bands participating in “Pipefest” in Edinburgh, an event which occurs every five years,” said a St. Mary’s spokesperson.

“This was the band’s fifth time to take part.”

The band would like to thank everyone who made a donation. The band are regulars at events throughout the year in the Limavady area, including the popular New Year’s Day swim at Magilligan Point and St. Patrick’s Day.
