Inspired Derry charity Stravaganza will benefit from a recent fundraising concert at Sandinos, as the proceeds were donated courtesy of its organisers, Naomi, Laura, Donal and Stephan - University of Ulster students who were on placement with the arts and disability charity.
The four students from University of Ulster’s School of Creative Arts had assisted on the audio-visual project ‘Wishing for the Moon’ and organised the event at Sandinos - raising money during an eclectic display of music which had its audience calling out for more!
Performers played a range of musical sets ranging from traditional through folk and indie to jazz improvisation. Members of the audience also had the opportunity to win an impressive array of prizes.
Stravaganza’s Jaci Wilde said of the event: “The music was incredible, and we are grateful to Laura, Stephan, Donal and Naomi for persuading so many talented students to perform for us on the night.”
The money raised by the students will contribute to the purchase of accessible music technology equipment.
