Survey held to find new school’s name

Parishioners in Strabane are to help decide the name for a new Catholic primary school in the town.

Barrack Street Boys’ PS, which is over 100 years old, is to merge with all-girl St Anne’s PS (the former Convent PS) in September, 2014.

The three names suggested by church authorities are St Francis PS (after the new Pope); St Catherine’s PS (after Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy); and St John’s PS (after the first Catholic church sited in Strabane).
