Police are appealing for information after an assault on a taxi driver.

An appeal for information has issued by police in Derry about an assault on a taxi driver.

The incident occurred in the Linenhall Street area approximately 1.50am on April 6. The suspect is described as aged in his late 30s, of a medium build with short, dark hair and was roughly shaven. He was wearing blue jeans and a dark blue short sleeve top with two white emblems on each side of the chest area. The suspect was accompanied by a woman in a pink dress.

A spokesperson said this morning that information can be given by calling the 101 non-emergency number and asking for the Foyle City West Neighbourhood Policing Team or by calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
