Teenage boy killed in Buncrana road traffic collision

A 13 year-old boy has died after a road traffic collision in Buncrana last night.

The single vehicle incident occurred at 10.30pm at Ballymacarry, Buncrana Co. Donegal on the main Buncrana to Carndonagh Road.

The boy was a pedestrian and was struck by a car.

A male pedestrian in his late 50s was also injured in the incident. The man’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening. He was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene and was also removed to Letterkenny General Hospital.

A post mortem examination will take place later today.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Garda forensic collision examination.
