Teenage Kicks music festival for under 18s

The Wonder Villans, Jody Has a Hitlist, Future Chaser, Dee Quigley and Screendeath are to headline a major underage festival as part of the 18th Gasyard Wall Féile.

The Practice Makes Perfect afternoon festival is an alcohol free event, it is also free of charge. The Gasyard Féile ups sticks and moves to Guildhall Square on August 10 where the sounds of some of the finest young talent in the country will rock the Walls.

Screendeath is a supremely talented 19 year old who’s barely been producing for 18 months yet sounds like he’s been at it for a lifetime. Screendeath has been chosen one of Radio 1’s “ones to watch” in 2011 by Andy George and Jaymo. Screendeath’s 2010 debut, “Packaback” EP was released on Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried Records and even bigger things are expected from him this year.

Former Meteor Award nominees Jody Has A Hitlist have toured and played with acts Lost Prophets and Kids In Glass Houses and were nominated in the ‘Most Promising 2010’ Meteor Award category. Local favourites The Wonder Villains are an indie-pop quartet from Derry. They have already supported the likes of Scouting for Girls and New Young Pony Club.

Other acts on the lineup include Rigsy (BBC Radio Ulster), Future Chaser, Red Right Return, Make My Week, Dee Quigley and Violet Republic. More acts are to be announced. For more info, contact Féíle office on: 71. 262812.
