Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry has appointed a new temporary chair of the governing body of the North West Regional College.
Gerard Finnegan has been appointed for a period three months following the replacement of Bertie Faulkner.
Mr Finnegan is a qualified chartered accountant who runs his own consultancy practice, Sea Change Consulting, which provides business planning and change management advice.
Announcing his appointment, Dr Farry said; “Mr Faulkner has led the College through a period of significant change over the last three years, and I would like to thank him for his contribution to the further education sector.
“Mr Finnegan has significant leadership skills and this will ensure that the College will maintain its focus on the quality of teaching and learning until I appoint a permanent Chair.”
Before setting up his own company, Mr Finnegan was a director at PricewaterhouseCoopers and a regional manager of Invest NI, where he headed up the agency’s work in the north west for eight years.
Mr Finnegan also spent time with Ilex, Derry’s urban regeneration company, where he headed the finance and corporate governance functions and later worked on the One Plan where his main interest was in education and skills.
