Hundreds of zombies - and a few Michael Jacksons - will take over Derry city centre tomorrow night as part of a global world record attempt.
Thrill the World will see dancers in towns and cities across the globe recreate in unison the dance moves from Jacko’s Thriller video.
From 7pm tomorrow night, Waterloo Place will be awash with zombies readying to join in the record bid that hopes to garner more than 13,000 dancers across the world - the current world record.
Among the Derry dancers will be members of local urban dance troupe Streetfeet. The group’s instructor/choreographer Irena Melly said she will be doing her best to round up support.
“Some of our dancers are taking part and are really keen. They love being involved in everything that’s going on in the city.
“It’ll be quite the spectacle. I’ll be doing my best to encourage as many people as possible to get involved.”
She urged anyone taking part to get to Waterloo Place at around 7pm when a choreographer will be taking dancers through the required moves.
Earlier this month former Westlife singer Brian McFadden lent his support to the Derry event in a specially recorded video message.

Anyone who is taking part needs to register for the event at Paolo’s Pizzas between 7-8:30pm. Organised by Direct Media and Gasyard Wall Féile, all proceeds will go to local charity The Pink Ladies - some of whom will don their dancing shoes to take part - and Macmillan.
