There was a great sense of sadness and shock when it was learned of the sudden passing of October 10th in Ardmore, Co. Waterford.James was the youngest son of Mary and the late Raymond Rehill, Muff and is survived also by his brother Jason and sisters Ramona and Georgina. To all these and the extended family deepest sympathy is extended. Requiem Mass was concelebrated inthe Sacred Heart Church, Muff by Father John Farren and Father Colm Morris, also in attendance was Father Daniel McFaul. The Offertory Gifts were taken up by Georgina Rehill, Ian Barr, Ciaran Sweeney, and Colr Michael Doherty who was also his godfather.
The readings were by Kevin Atcheson, Daniel Kelly, and the Prayers of the Faithful were said by Aiden Lynch, Justin McLaughlin, Shane Johnston, Patrick Johnston,Sandra Guckian, Richard Gough, and Ian Scarramuzza. The beautiful music in the Church was supplied by Una and Roisin Brogan. Father Farren in his Eulogy quoted the songs ‘ Fields of Athenry’ and ‘You’ll never walk alone’, explaining that both songs contained words of loneliness and also of hope. It was a poignant moment when Jame’s remains were being taken from the church to the graveyard the Donegal anthem ‘Jimmy’s winning matches’ was sung. He was laid to rest in the adjoining graveyard. James was only 25 years old and at the time of his death was working as a sous chef in the Michelin starred Cliff-house Hotel, Ardmore, Waterford, having previously worked in Gleneagles, Scotland. He was hard working and had a passion for cooking at an early age.he was very sociable and as most of his friend’s would testify ‘good craic’ and never a dull moment when he was around. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him from the various places he worked; Killybegs, Letterkenny, Rathmullen, Scotland, and Waterford. May he rest in peace.
Sincere sympathy is also extended to Mrs Annie Dixon, Glackmore, on the death of her grandson Shaun McDaid, Carndonagh. May he rest in peace.
