An Inishowen childcare worker was beaming last week when she was received a prestigious award in Ballybofey.

Milanda McCauley from Quigley’s Point was given the award by Donegal County Childcare in recognition of her long term service to early childhood in Donegal.

Milanda has been actively involved in childcare since 1983 and is currently actively employed as the manager of Children’s Point Childcare centre in Quigley’s Point.

Speaking to the ‘Journal’ following the event, which was hosted by Donegal County Council, called ‘I Belong’ - yesterday, today and tomorrow’ in Ballybofey, Milanda said she was delighted with the award.

“This award is really important to me, but a big part of it also belongs to the children who are in my care here at the centre in Quigley’s Point.”
